This site: a custom portfolio platform with its own CMS
Rebuilt from WordPress into a custom Next.js platform with a built-in CMS, first-party analytics, an SEO command centre, Substack sync with instant indexing, and a booking system.
#Why rebuild?
The old site ran on WordPress with a stack of plugins for page building, bookings, members, SEO and analytics. It worked, but it was slow and hard to change. This version is a single, custom codebase that I fully control.
#What's inside
- Next.js + TypeScript + Tailwind CSS, server-rendered and statically cached for speed
- A built-in CMS: every section of the site is editable from a private admin panel, with full revision history and one-click rollback
- Substack sync: new posts appear here automatically, then get pushed to search engines through IndexNow and Google Search Console
- SEO command centre: on-page audits, Lighthouse scores, Search Console clicks and impressions, and URL index status in one dashboard
- First-party, cookie-free analytics with real-user Core Web Vitals
- A booking system with timezone-aware slots and calendar invites
- Fun extras: a Bloch-sphere hero, a command palette, a terminal, and an interactive quantum key distribution lab
